A tanning bed is a structure lined with sun lamps in which one stands or reclines in order to acquire a sun tan. Natural sunlight contains an uncontrolled amount of UVB ( burning rays). Indoor tanning controls both UVA/UVB ratio and your exposure time. This gives you the perfect balance for developing a deep, dark tan. Some people may see a skin tone change after one or two sessions, most people need 7 to 10 sessions to fully develop a tan. After you develop a good base tan, 1 or 2 tanning bed sessions a week will maintain a deep, dark tan through out the year.
